Welcome to More+ Informed,
Attention to detail and exacting customer service standards at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre have paid off over the past 12 months. It’s been a rollercoaster year with challenges for everyone, but we certainly believe that continuing to do what we do well and finding ways to do it even better, provides us strength in delivering for our customers.
There are many exciting projects in the pipeline which we will unveil throughout the next year. Right now, we’re excited about the recent opening of our new bar ‘twentyone’ and the refurbishment of Rebo, and how these venues contribute to the offering our customers can enjoy. The SKYCITY venues, combined with our increasing list of off-site venues, provide all sorts of choices for the convention market and we are as always only too delighted to work with you to ensure everything is exactly right for your meeting, conference or event.
We are proud once again to be reconfirmed as a property with a ‘Gold A’ food hygiene rating from Auckland City Council and consider this a reflection of the high standards we bring to everything we do. We are optimistic about the coming year with strong interest from New Zealand and overseas, and hope your businesses are also enjoying a more positive outlook.
Throughout this past year we have been extremely grateful for the continued support of you, our customers. I do thank you for your continued loyalty to SKYCITY Convention Centre and SKYCITY Catering & Events and hope we will continue to work well together in the future.
The summer holidays are just around the corner so from the team at SKYCITY Auckland have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Warm wishes

Our People
|
 |
Agnes began working with SKYCITY five and a half years ago part-time during her studies for a conjoint Bachelor of Arts and Science.
Starting as a part time busser (clearing tables) and then moving to become a full time waiter, Agnes had no idea that she would fall in love with hospitality.
Progressing on to become Operations Supervisor and then Convention Services Management, Agnes is now working in Conventions Administration Management where she is Peter Zielke’s right hand woman.
Agnes says her favourite part of the job is “being able to help everyone, - I’m usually the first port of call so I like to be able to help people and solve any problems.”
Peter says he can’t imagine life at work without Agnes!

Petroleum Conference Returns
|
 |
SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre is once again confirmed as the venue for the 2010 New Zealand Petroleum Conference. The September event will be the third time the conference has been held at SKYCITY Auckland.
Director of Sales Convention & Outcatering, Richard Dodds, said it was a robust tender process and he’s delighted with the result.
"The ability to offer an on-site package of 660 hotel rooms, 5,500 square metres of convention space, bars and restaurants added to our value proposition."
The theme for the 2010 conference is ‘Transformation’ and allows government and industry speakers to provide insights into the potential impact oil and gas could have to transform New Zealand’s economy. The programme will also address areas that appear to constrain growth in New Zealand’s oil and gas industry and will feature presentations on emerging oil and gas investment opportunities, development of New Zealand’s National Energy Strategy, and a host of technical and commercial issues arising from New Zealand’s petroleum energy sector. The New Zealand Petroleum Conference attracts industry leaders, experts and decision makers to discuss and exchange information as well as to deliberate on issues and challenges confronting the oil and gas industry. In addition, it serves as a platform for industry players to network and develop business opportunities.
Further information about the conference is available at http://www.crownminerals.govt.nz

Maxine Wallis, SKYCITY Sales Manager for the Australian PCO Conference Market, said "It is important that we present our facilities directly to the Australian market and with that, supporting the New Zealand industry. We've received a lot of positive feedback regarding our attendance and many requests to meet during the conference."
“We recognise the importance of the Australian market to SKYCITY and believe this event gives us the opportunity to get in front of qualified professional conference organisers. We are also attending to show support for our own PCO Council together with Conventions & Incentives New Zealand who are speaking at the conference."
The conference will further explore the skill sets required in this new professional environment and provide a roadmap for survival in these ‘interesting’ economic times. For more information about the conference, visit www.conventionhouse.com.au/pco9/

SKYCITY Helps Pick Up The PAICE
|
 |
The annual Pacific Area Incentives and Conference Expo (PAICE) was held for the first time at SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre on September 8. With over 300 buyers attending and approximately 90 booths set up, there was barely a free space left on the floor of Level 4. It was also the largest PAICE ever.
SKYCITY’s Jo Meredith said the positive feedback from PAICE organisers was amazing. “The organisers and delegates were delighted with the Convention Centre’s central location and plentiful parking and many said the catering was better than in previous years”.
To measure SKYCITY’s services, evaluation documents distributed by ProMag Publishing Ltd, the organiser of PAICE, were filled out by attendees with pleasing results.
100% of attendees described the catering as either Excellent or Good and 97% of attendees said that the venue and location were Excellent or Good.
“We really feel that we are the experts in delivering large meetings and it was fantastic to have attendees describing it as the best PAICE in years,” said Jo.
