In December 2004, amendments were made to the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and smoking has been banned in all indoor spaces in New Zealand hospitality venues. This means people can no longer smoke inside places such as bars, gaming venues, clubs, hotel rooms, and restaurants.

At SKYCITY Auckland we comply with the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 and Ministry of Health Guidelines for smoking balconies.
