Every day six children and adults in New Zealand are diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or a related blood condition. LBC is the national charity dedicated to supporting patients and their families living with blood cancers. SkyCity Auckland has been a longstanding partner of LBC through hosting and supporting three iconic fundraising events, the Fire Fighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge, Corporate Sky Tower Stair Challenge and SkyCity Dining for a Difference.
The Fire Fighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge is now a New Zealand tradition and an iconic event for national and international fire fighting communities. The event provides LBC and event attendees with a bespoke opportunity to challenge ones physical limits by running the 1,103 steps the Southern Hemisphere’s tallest man-made structure in full fire fighting kit and provides the charity with a powerful fundraising and communication platform. The Corporate Sky Tower Stair Challenge is an annual event that provides an opportunity for businesses to get involved and fundraise for LBC.
